Three self catering holiday Cabins are available on a secluded site in
woodland, high above Loch Ness. Built in a Scandinavian style with
Scottish Douglas Fir logs, these cabins are comfortable and warm, and
in a setting which is rich in wildlife, right up to the door! Roe and
Sika deer, foxes, red squirrels, hares and badgers have all been seen
within a few feet of the cabins, with red kites, peregrines, buzzards
and even ospreys overhead.
These Cabins are all the same - it is just the requirements of the
booking system which means we have to list them separately. Just check
the availability and book whichever is vacant for your dates. If you
have been before, and want to come back to the same cabin, please make
sure to ask us, otherwise they will be allocated at random.
The
Cabins are equipped with electric cooker, fridge-freezer, digital
television, bath and shower. The main bedroom has a double bed, and the
other has two singles. We have recently added log-burning stoves for
old-fashioned cosiness, and free Wi-Fi for modern convenience.(Although
being 4 km from the exchange means that the latter can be sluggish at
times!
Electricty in the Cabins is charged for, by means of a
slot meter which takes £1 coins. (It is difficult to estimate this cost, because it depends so much on
requirements for hot water and cooking, but people rarely spend more
than £3 per day.)We always have a stock of coins at the
farmhouse in case you run out.
A basic allowance of firewood is provided, and further supplies are always available for a reasonable charge.
For those of you that have been before, please note the the capacity of the Cabins is now four people, not six.
